Welcome to our online service for 1st November, All Saints’ Day.
Today’s service is led by Rebecca Branch, with a sermon from our Rector Revd Vanessa Conant, an interview with Josh Wilson-Osuiede, Scripture readings from Rachel Sebunya and Holly Wilkins, prayers from Michael Coppelov and special music from Jonathan and Helen Rathbone.
Today on All Saints’ Day, we celebrate all of the saints – both those who known and those who are unknown – who have gone before us.
You can join our pre-recorded service now by clicking here.
While you watch our pre-recorded service whenever is convenient for you, we’ll be live-streaming today’s service to our Facebook page at 10.30am, with some portions of the service delivered live and others pre-recorded. We’re also pleased to offer another brilliant service this week for families and children, with games, songs, teaching and activities; to access this week’s children’s service, click here.
Also, Caitlin Edmondson and Laura Elgie are heading up a beautiful Advent and Christmas project this year that we’d love for you to participate in; it’s called a “Jesse Tree”, which is a medieval tradition which was used to help tell the story of the Bible, from the creation story to the birth of Jesus.
The name comes from Jesse, the Father of Jesus’s ancestor, King David. Each day in December, you will read one of two dozen stories from the Old Testament, which point towards Jesus; each story is also connected to a decoration to hang on the Jesse Tree (which can also be your Christmas tree!). If you would like to order a free Jesse Tree pack, please click here and give us your details.
Lastly, donations are our primary source of income and help us serve each other and all of Walthamstow; if you would like to give a one-time gift or set up a standing order, you can do securely and in seconds by clicking here.
