Join us this Sunday 21/11 for the Feast of Christ the King with two services in the St Mary’s Welcome Centre: a 9am Holy Communion led by Revd Vanessa Conant with a sermon from Revd Alan Moss, and a 10.30am service led by Revd Dave Edmondson with Alan preaching and children’s groups provided.
The Feast of Christ the King, which was first instituted in the 1920s to combat the rising tide of fascism, reminds us that Jesus’ Kingship does not reinforce the world’s unjust hierarchies, but challenges them, for at the centre of God’s Kingdom are those who, as Pope Francis says, “have suffered injustice, inequality, abuse of power, deprivations and xenophobia.”
