St Mary’s will be part of Open House London with two afternoons of free churchyard tours (you must book a place here) on Sunday 5 September 2021 and Saturday 11 September 2021.
The ‘Churchyard Trails: Stories from Walthamstow’s Past’ tours – which each last 45 minutes – explore some of the fascinating people buried in St Mary’s Churchyard and are led by David and Jack Baker, our resident historians and heritage experts.
Please note that the tours are weather-dependent, require travelling across uneven terrain and are best suited for children 10 years of age or older. These tours can also fill up quickly, so reserve a place as soon as you can! However, while previous tours only accommodated 10 people per tour, tours on Saturday 11 September have been increased to 12 people per tour, which means previously full tours now have space. Book to reserve a place.
