Join us for the first of two Christingle services at St Mary’s on Christmas Eve, this one for children under 5. The celebration is named after the Christingles which are made from an orange decorated with red tape, sweets and a candle. At a children’s service in Marienborn, Germany in 1747, Bishop Johannes de Watteville looked for a simple way to explain the story of Jesus. Today, the service raises money for the Children’s Society, which supports vulnerable children and young people throughout the UK.
