Gaudete Sunday (13/12)

Today is Gaudete Sunday, which means ‘rejoice!’

We always celebrate Gaudete Sunday on the third Sunday of Advent – a day to be joyful and to remember John the Baptist, who points us towards Jesus.

Today’s service is led by Revd Vanessa Conant and features a sermon from Rob Duddridge, scripture readings from Stuart Lambert and Jen Powell and prayers from Ruth Keane. You can join our pre-recorded service whenever is convenient for you by clicking here.

We’ll also live-stream today’s service to our Facebook page at 10.30am; there we’ll feature a live interview with Jonathan and Helen Rathbone along with other live elements in between pre-recorded segments. To join us on our Facebook page for today’s service at 10.30am, click here.

Jonathan and Helen will talk about this in their interview, but we’d love for you to join us at 3pm today on Zoom for a special carol-sing. Though we will mute ourselves on Zoom, we’ll be recording the video and using that in our online carol service next week. We’re also hoping people who join us today at 3pm on Zoom will separately record themselves singing several pre-selected carols to send to Jonathan. Individual voices will then be edited together for next week’s carol service. Learn more here.

Once again, we’re pleased to bring you a family and children’s service. Our team do an incredible job putting this together, and we hope you’ll find it helpful. Access this week’s children’s service here.

Finally, donations are our primary source of income and help us to serve each other and all of Walthamstow. You can give securely – and in seconds – through our website today.
