St Mary’s Walthamstow has a rich history spanning over 900 years from its foundations in the 12th Century. The church itself is an architectural treasure map of the ages, whilst the monuments in the church and four-acre churchyard reveal the stories of fascinating people from Walthamstow’s past.
We have a group of research volunteers who continue to investigate these histories in the archives, with so much still to be discovered. We’re always looking for history enthusiasts interested in helping us to find out more – and no prior research experience is necessary. Please email Dr Emma Miles, Community Engagement Officer, at firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re interested in getting involved or learning more.
