Join us for Holy Week and Easter 2022 at St Mary’s and in the Parish of Walthamstow.
We’ll begin Holy Week on Tuesday 12 April with a free printmaking activity in St Mary’s Churchyard at 10.30am for children ages 7 and up (with all children accompanied by a parent/ carer).
This event, which is supported by the Heritage Fund, will be led by Walthamstow-based professional artist and printmaker Fiona Fouhy, who is also a member of St Mary’s.
Book a free place to the outdoor printmaking day here.
On Wednesday of Holy Week, we’ll have a short communion service at 2pm and a special Holy Week Vespers gathering at 7.30pm, both in the St Mary’s Welcome Centre.
On Thursday of Holy Week, our sister church St Gabriel’s (corner of Havant Road and Wood Street) will hold a Maundy Thursday Holy Communion service at 7.30pm.
On Friday of Holy Week, we’ll have three Good Friday services in the St Mary’s Welcome Centre: a 10am ‘Messy Good Friday’ service which is especially good for children and families; a 2pm ‘Watch at the Cross’ Good Friday meditative prayer service; and a more traditional 7.30pm Good Friday service.
On Saturday of Holy Week, we’ll have an Easter Vigil service in the Welcome Centre car park.
And on Easter Sunday, we’ll celebrate with two Holy Communion services in the St Mary’s Welcome Centre at 9am and 10.30am.
