‘Material Witnesses’ Faith & Fashion Talk (23/5)

On Tuesday 23 May at 6pm, Professor Reina Lewis from London College of Fashion, University of the Arts, will lead an expert panel at St Mary’s to discuss the diverse religious, spiritual and moral perspectives articulated through fashion and style – something explored in our inaugural exhibition, Material Witnesses. Joining Professor Lewis to explore the topic will be:

  • Dr Christine Checinska, a member of St Mary’s and the V&A’s Senior Curator of African and African Diaspora Fashion and Lead Curator of the Africa Fashion exhibition
  • Humeera Dar, whose graduate menswear collection drew on her Kashmiri heritage using dead stock to create streetwear with messages of support for human rights
  • Alisa Ruzavina, artist, designer and educator
