St Mary’s is pleased to announce that our building will be open for Private Prayer on Wednesdays, 9-10.30am, from 1st July 2020. To do so safely, we are requiring those who would like to pray in the building to wear a face mask at all times and to maintain a two-metre social distance from others.
We will also operate a one-way system, where visitors will enter the building via our normal entrance but will exit through the side door (which is typically used as a fire escape) that faces the Monoux Almshouses. Signs will make it clear where to exit the building.
Finally, we will be keeping our toilets closed to the public for the foreseeable future and apologise for any inconvenience this might cause.
Our intention is to keep the church building open for private prayer on Wednesdays, 9-10.30am, throughout the summer, with a return to Sunday worship (one service, with reduced capacity and no singing) in September; however, this could change if infections increase and it is unsafe to do so.
We plan to continue offering a full range of online worship and learning in the months to come, and look forward to the day when we can open the building in a more welcoming way. Thank you for your understanding during this time, and for your patience as we discern the best way forward.
