The way we buy and wear clothes has a huge impact on the climate.
That’s why Fiona Fouhy and Abby Stanley-Jones from our Eco Church team are organising a Clothes Swap on Saturday afternoon, 19 March, at the Welcome Centre from 3-5pm to help us be more sustainable in our fashion choices and to recycle and reuse clothes, shoes and bags that are in good condition but no longer used.
Drop off your unwanted but clean men’s, women’s or children’s clothes at 2pm, and then swap them with others from 3-5pm. Come and enjoy a cup of tea and a piece of cake as we try on clothes.
It’s a great way to meet new people and to make a difference to the climate emergency as we rescue clothes from landfill and provide alternatives to the damaging culture of “fast fashion”. There’s no need to register, just turn up.
If you can help with baking cakes beforehand or assisting on the day, including taking any leftover clothes to Oxfam afterwards, message us at email@example.com or just turn up a bit early on Saturday.
