Join us this morning for one of two services in the St Mary’s Welcome Centre: a 9am Holy Communion led by Revd Jide Macaulay with a sermon from Revd Dave Edmondson, and a 10.30am all-age service led by Revd Vanessa Conant with a talk from Dave.
This morning, we’ll live-stream the 9am service to our Facebook page, while the 10.30am service will be a shortened 35 minutes in order to make it easier for parents with young children.
Today, we reflect on the “epiphany” from Luke 4:14-21, when Jesus begins his ministry by reading the scroll of the prophet Isaiah, which said:
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.”
