Sunday Services: Black History Month (16/10)

On Sunday 16 October, join us in the St Mary’s Welcome Centre for Holy Communion at both 9am and 10.30am as we celebrate Black History Month.

Charnelle Barclay, our Community Organiser/Church Planter, will preach for us, and Revd Dave Edmondson will preside at communion and also lead us in a special liturgy as we reflect on black history in the Church and wider society.

This Sunday, we will have supervised groups for children ages 2-11 at our 10.30am service, which will also be live-streamed to www.facebook.com/StMarysE17 for those who are unable to join us in person.

After the 10.30am service, all are welcome to bring their lunch and join us for a 1pm screening of the documentary, After the Flood: The Church, Slavery and Reconciliation, directed by Professor Robert Beckford, who spoke at St Mary’s earlier this year. We’ll watch together and then have a time of discussion for anyone who would like to stay and reflect together.

We hope to see you at St Mary’s this Sunday!
