Church happens throughout the week, but our main gatherings are on Sundays at 9am and 10.30am.
Due to our Creative Church regeneration project, as of 27th June 2021, both of our Sunday Services will be in the Welcome Centre, which is our church hall located just across the churchyard from the church building. We expect to be based in the Welcome Centre for at least 12 months, though possibly longer.
Our weekly 9am service is Holy Communion – a simple liturgical service which includes a short sermon – while our 10.30am service celebrates Communion every first and third Sunday of the month, has a slightly longer sermon and also features music. Since 25th July 2021, we are again singing together in the building.
We have relaxed some social distancing measures, but because the Welcome Centre is significantly smaller than our church building, we are asking anyone who attends a Sunday Service to wear a mask indoors if they are able. Our goal is to protect the most vulnerable, and while case numbers are still high, wearing a mask is something we can do to keep each other safe.
For those who are unable to attend church in-person, we will continue to offer an online service at 10.30am, which we live-stream to our Facebook page from the Welcome Centre.
While booking isn’t necessary, booking a place at our services helps us with Track and Trace. To book a place at an upcoming 9am Holy Communion service in the Welcome Centre, click here.

From 12 September 2021, the Welcome Centre lounge will be set up for self-guided play at our 10.30am service, and parents are invited to move back and forth between the lounge and the worship space. We are planning to re-start Sunday School at 10.30am as soon as possible, but are currently completing our safeguarding checks. We are also planning to put on a shorter Family Service every fourth Sunday of the month at 10.30am.
St Mary’s is a diverse and inclusive church for the whole community where all are welcome, always. Whoever you are – and wherever you’re at on the journey of faith – you will be welcomed!
