Cyanotype Workshop (27/5)

On Saturday 27 May, join us for a free cyanotype workshop led by St Mary’s own Fiona Fouhy. Cyanotype photography is a camera-less technique that involves placing an object on paper coated with a solution of iron salts before exposing it to UV light and washing with water to create stunning white and blue images.

29/4 Workshop & Concert to Tell the Story of Walthamstow

St Mary’s will host an afternoon singing workshop followed by an evening concert on Saturday 29 April. Supported by the National Heritage Lottery Fund as part our ‘Creative Church’ regeneration project, both the workshop and concert will tell the story of Walthamstow through music. Those attending the 2.30pm workshop will be invited to perform in the concert, which will be held that same evening at 6pm in St Mary’s – Walthamstow’s ancient church and oldest building.

St Mary’s Launches Chair Sponsorship Campaign

St Mary’s Church is Walthamstow’s oldest building, and with support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, is undergoing major renovations to make it an inclusive centre of arts and culture – open to the whole community, throughout the week – alongside being a working church. We’re inviting you to be part of this history-making regeneration of one of Walthamstow’s most-loved and notable buildings by sponsoring a chair, which will include an engraved dedication of your choice.
