Tonight’s Vespers Cancelled & a Statement on Far Right Violence (7/8)

We have received a report from the Met Police and London Borough of Waltham Forest notifying us of a far right gathering planned for Walthamstow this evening (7th August). For this reason, we have decided to cancel tonight’s Vespers to ensure that no visitors to St Mary’s are put in any danger.

Met Police are advising people to stay away from Hoe Street on Wednesday evening and to report any concerning activity to 101. St Mary’s Church stands united with our inter-faith brothers and sisters and strongly opposes all violence, racism and Islamophobia.

Please pray for peace in our Borough and across our nation.
