Trinity Sunday + Church Picnic (12/6)

On Sunday 12 June, we’ll celebrate Trinity Sunday with two morning services in the St Mary’s Welcome Centre: a 9am Holy Communion and a 10.30am service with a children’s lounge available for self-guided play. After the 10.30am service, we will walk to the Town Hall with packed lunches to sit near the fountains and eat together.

Both of our services will be led by Revd Vanessa Conant with a sermon from Revd Alan Moss.

On Trinity Sunday, we celebrate and explore the mystery of the Trinity: one God in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. As St Augustine once wrote, “We are talking about God. Little wonder you don’t understand. And if you do understand, then it’s not God.” In other words, the Trinity isn’t easy to comprehend – but then again, we’re talking about God!

We hope to see you this Sunday at St Mary’s, and we hope you might also join us for our picnic afterwards. If you’re unable to join us in person for Sunday worship, we will live-stream our 10.30am service to our Facebook page, which you can find here.

There is also a free history tour of our churchyard this Sunday afternoon at 2pm which is led by David and Jack Baker, the details of which are here. David and Jack will also be leading additional churchyard tours in June and July.
