Vespers is an open environment for people exploring faith, just looking for a quiet space or interested in practicing contemplation, mindfulness or contemplative prayer. As of 14 December 2022, we are again meeting on Wednesdays at 7.30pm in St Mary’s ancient church building, which has just undergone extensive restoration works.

Vespers lasts for exactly 40 minutes and features a poem, a reflection, two pieces of choral or instrumental music, two periods of stillness and a closing blessing. And while we draw on over a thousand years of Christian contemplative practice, Vespers is for everyone, regardless of background or belief.

Please note that Vespers does not meet during certain holiday periods, including between Christmas and the New Year, as well as in August.
