Youth and children

At St Mary’s, youth and children aren’t just the future of the church, they are the church!

Worship and faith formation happen at every age and stage, but especially in childhood, which is why we take formation for children and young people so seriously. On Sunday mornings at our 10.30am service, our dedicated and skilled volunteers partner with Red Balloon Family – a Christian charity that works with children and young people – to offer groups for children up to 11 years of age in the Welcome Centre (our church hall), with a baby lounge in the church vestry also available.

On Sunday evenings, our young people (secondary school) meet in the Welcome Centre to talk about faith, cook, learn, pray and develop friendships. They are also raising money for a trip to Mexico.

Finally, we’ve also recently relaunched our Thursday Club, which is a free after-school drop-in for primary school children every Thursday, 3.30pm-5pm, during term time. It’s held in the church. Read more here.
