Congratulations on your engagement! Getting married is one of the most important and serious decisions we make in life. We would love to welcome you and your friends and family to a wedding service at St Mary’s.
At St Mary’s, we seek to make your wedding personal and memorable for you. A church wedding can be particularly special and it is our privilege to support couples as they prepare for their special day.
Everyone is welcome to marry in their parish church and you can find out whether you live in the parish of St Mary’s by using this online tool.
If you don’t live in the parish, it can still be possible to marry at St Mary’s so please complete our enquiry form here and a member of our team will be in touch to discuss the options available to you.
Every year, St Mary’s holds a marriage preparation course where couples have the opportunity to talk about the building blocks of their marriage and to spend time thinking about the promises you will make and the shape of your life together. The course is free and we find it to be a great time of learning and conversation.
Marriage for non-UK or EEA nationals with settled or pre-settled status
You can still get married in the parish church, but the process of application will be different for non-EEA nationals or for those without Settled or Pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme. We will be able to guide you through this process.
Lifelong support
Your parish church is also here to support you in the months and years after your wedding. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like to find out more about getting married or if you need support in your married life.
St Mary’s is also available for wedding receptions whether or not you are getting married in the church. For more information, email:
Renewal of marriage vows
We’d love to welcome you (and your family and friends if appropriate) for a Service of Thanksgiving for your marriage. Often couples choose this option to mark an important anniversary or life event, or sometimes after a particularly difficult time in the marriage. But you don’t need to have a specific reason!
