On Sunday, 8th December – the Second Sunday of Advent – we’ll light our second Advent candle as Revd Ola Franklin presides and leads and Revd Alan Moss preaches at 9am (Holy Communion) and again at 10.30am (Morning Worship).
Advent is a time for us to renew our hope in Christ; we do this not as an escape from reality, but as an affirmation that ‘the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it’ (John 1:5). Just as Jesus entered a tumultuous and violent world in humble circumstances, in Advent, we prepare our hearts to welcome him into our troubled world.
We’ll have supervised children’s groups at this Sunday’s 10.30am service, with a Baby Lounge in the South Vestry at both services. For those unable to join us in person, we’ll livestream the 9am service to our Facebook page.
