Introduced in late February, St Mary’s Play Area is now fully operational and is a great way to support the church with a £3 donation while giving babies and toddlers a safe place to explore and play. Located in the back of church, our Play Area is also a brilliant way to connect with other parents and carers.
The Play Area is mostly fenced-off and includes a variety of toys and books as well as soft play equipment for toddlers to climb on. It is open at the same time as our cafe and Exhibition Space: Monday-Friday, 8.30am to 4pm, and Saturday, 9am to 4pm.
And we’ve already started to expand the Play Area as we now have a second space with bouncers and soft mats.
By making a £3 donation each time your child uses the Play Area, you help us keep our ancient building open to the whole community throughout the week.
You can donate via our tap-and-go donation points in the church, via cash in the white donation box at the back of church, or via the donation page on our website.
Please note the terms, conditions and rules for using the Play Area on the signage in church, and please also note that the Play Area is unstaffed, so we ask that parents and carers supervise children at all times. The Play Area is best suited for children under four years of age.
We are also now hiring out the Play Area and cafe space for children’s parties (children under four) on Sunday afternoons. Get in touch with our team for rates and availability by emailing us at or enquire by filling out a form on our Building & Room Hire page.
