Holy Week and Easter 2023

Join us for Holy Week and Easter 2023 at St Mary’s and in the Parish of Walthamstow.

Holy Week is a chance for us to enter into the final week of the life of Jesus Christ as he arrives in Jerusalem on Palm Sunday – greeted as a hero – and is later betrayed, sentenced to death and executed like a common criminal, only to rise again, days later.

St Mary’s Reopening Weekend (23-26 February 2023)

We’re delighted to celebrate the reopening of St Mary’s on the final weekend of February 2023 with free events for all ages. For all events on Thursday and Saturday, you must book in advance.

Epiphany Sunday (8/1)

On Sunday 8 January, we’ll celebrate Epiphany at two services in our ancient building: a quieter 9am Holy Communion and a 10.30am Morning Worship service with activities for children as well as a baby and toddler lounge.

Christmas Day Services (25/12)

We’ll begin Christmas Day by sharing Holy Communion at midnight in a service that starts at 11.15pm on Christmas Eve. We’ll also share Holy Communion at 9am and 10.30am on Christmas Day, with the earlier service offering a quieter start to Christmas Day, while the later service will be a joyful celebration for all ages.

Advent & Christmas 2022 at St Mary’s

Join us for Advent and Christmas as we reopen Walthamstow’s ancient church and oldest building to the whole community on 11 December with two morning services of Holy Communion at 9am and 10.30am, followed by Orchestral Carols at 6pm.
